Hear about “Heroes of the Holocaust: Ordinary Britons who risked their lives to make a difference”, a talk by author Lyn Smith on Monday 28th May at 2.00 pm.
In 2010, 27 Britons who took matters into their own hands to protect Jews from the Nazis during one of the darkest times in human history were formally recognised as 'Heroes of the Holocaust' by the British Government. The silver medal, inscribed with the words 'In the Service of Humanity', was created to acknowledge those 'whose selfless actions preserved life in the face of persecution'.
For the first time, their stories have been collected together. Written by acclaimed Holocaust historian Lyn Smith, this is a moving testament to the bravery of those whose inspiring actions stand out in stark relief at a time of such horror. 'Heroes of the Holocaust' will be available to buy. For more details contact Southwold Library 01502 722519

Follow these endearing green fur-balls through a series of hilarious adventures. How will they stop the spiky Skraks from stealing their chickweed crops? Can they help little Cringe, a reluctant visitor from a parallel time? Will they succeed in their quest to discover how the Willigrews began? How can they save their village from the terrible Gloopudds? without actually fighting? What is the answer to the Big Sneeze epidemic? And where have the Dranglebinders gone? They may be small, they may be weak (and Krowfin is certainly very confused), but their adventures are huge!
