Southwold Rugby Club has been on Southwold Common since 1964.  The club runs out two men's teams, a Ladies' team, five Youth teams (U13s-U17s) and six Minis teams (U7s-U12s) every weekend between September and May.  The new clubhouse provides a friendly setting for players and parents alike as well as hosting parties and conferences.  The club thrives on the rugby ethos and welcomes anyone who wishes to share the values rugby promotes.

As part of our programme within the community we try to take the subject of astronomy to the public to help them become aware of the wonders that lie above our heads. To help us achieve that we hold a bi-annual exhibition at the Lowestoft Library and give talks and demonstrations to local schools. If any school in the Waveney area would like to book a date for us to entertain children on the subject of astronomy, please contact us. Non-members are welcome to visit our lectures and sky-watch nights, free of charge.

The LWR has been created as a not-for-profit railway preservation society and all work will be carried out by friends and volunteers. This is a very exciting project in that it could result in what may be the only known instance of a preserved industrial railway engine being able to run again along its original track bed.
